Search across all your documents with semantic and keyword search.
The Search page lets you find specific information across your entire document library using a combination of semantic search (understanding meaning) and keyword search (exact matches).
How to search
- Navigate to Search in the sidebar
- Type your query in the search bar
- Filter by document type: All, Documents, Drawings, Specifications
Hybrid search
Osprai uses a fusion of semantic and keyword search. This means:
- Searching for "air handling unit capacity" also finds documents mentioning "AHU tonnage" or "cooling capacity"
- Equipment identifiers like "AHU-01" get exact keyword matches alongside semantic results
- French terms like "climatisation" automatically expand to include "HVAC" results
Bilingual by default
Search works across both English and French documents simultaneously. A built-in glossary of 45+ AEC/AV term pairs ensures nothing gets missed.
Search scope
You can control where the AI looks:

| Entire workspace | All documents in the workspace (default) |
| Active project | Only documents in the currently selected project |
Set your default in Personal > Search & Retrieval.
Document type filters
Use the filter chips to narrow results by type. Useful when you know you're looking for a drawing vs. a specification vs. a manual.
Recent activity
When you haven't searched yet, the Search page shows your most recently updated documents for quick access. Click any document to search within it.
Tips
- Include specific equipment names or model numbers for precise results
- Use the document priority settings in Personal > Search & Retrieval to prioritise specifications over reports (or vice versa)
- Results are ranked by relevance. The best matches appear first
